How to Apply

You can apply for financial support through our online grants system here: https://www.almizan-generalwelfarefund.org.uk

Before starting the application process, please ensure that you have read through the Grants Policy, including the Priorities and Exclusions, to ensure that your application meets our criteria, and the application process below, to find out more about how we will deal with your funding request.

To apply, you will first need to submit an enquiry through our online grants system to determine whether we are able to consider your application. The enquiry form will ask some initial questions about the circumstances and situation of the potential beneficiary, as well as asking what you are requesting us to fund. You can see a template Enquiry Form here.

After you have submitted your enquiry, we will review it and let you know within five working days by email if you are able to submit a full application. Please add noreply@grantvisor.com to your list of safe senders to ensure that you receive our automated emails.

The application form asks for more details about the purpose of the grant and the potential beneficiary, including information about their employment status, family and household, and financial situation. We also ask for details of a referee, who can verify that the situation of the beneficiary is as stated on the application form. You can see a template Application Form here.

After you have submitted your application, we will review it and may contact you for additional information by telephone. The Grants Panel then conducts a rigorous assessment of each application and you will receive an email with a decision on your application.

If your application is approved, you will be asked to submit Photographic ID and Proof of Address to claim your grant, and we will contact your appointed referee for a reference. Please do not send any of these documents when you submit your application, as they will be discarded and you will be asked for them again.

Wherever possible, payments are made directly to suppliers or retailers, by bank transfer or cheque. On occasion, we ask charities or agencies to receive funds and administer the grant on our behalf. We never make cash payments to beneficiaries.
